STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

NUTEC’S professional staff has a diverse project portfolio including industrial, corporate, institutional, and government facilities. Our Team Focused- Design Driven solutions are provided under direction of an experienced team of project managers that can guide our clients from the initial stages of planning through design, construction, and occupancy. Additional in-house services include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, structural, civil, geo-environmental and landscape design.

Job Summary:
A Structural Engineer is responsible for interfacing with our clients, developing schematic and final designs, coordinating with other in-house disciplines, and leading the design efforts for a variety of project types, while mentoring staff. An engineer provides expertise for planning, design, and construction of projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates company’s core values with both internal team members and external clients.
• Mentors staff on project team.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the project staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Serve on multiple project teams and work with Project Managers to successfully complete projects.
• Develop project designs through all phases of a project, resolves design solutions.
• Prepare studies, reports, and produce complete construction documents.
• Design various building materials and systems.
• Meet, communicate, and coordinate project requirements with owners, architects, engineers, other designers and contractors.
• Interface and coordinate with client representatives.
• Oversee the detailing and production of engineering drawing sets, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) within the operations of the firm.
• Field survey of existing conditions.
• Construction Administration activities including submittal reviews, RFI’s responses, and field inspections.
• Maintain project budgets and schedules as directed by Project Architect/Engineer/Manager.
• Manages multiple simultaneous projects for discipline.
• Collaborates with the company’s leadership to evaluate and meet organizational goals.
• Identifies and recommends new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making.
• Ensures client relationships and projects are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
• Identifies emerging technologies and trends in engineering for consideration.
• Perform IBC code review and establish project design criteria.
• Review shop drawings, answer contractor requests for information, perform construction observations and prepare reports.
• Prepare AIA Masterspec documents and construction estimates.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 4-6 years of related experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with Engineering design, Construction documentation, and Accounting and Project Management software
• Revit

Physical Requirements and work environment:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Subject to inside environmental conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to reach above and below the waist.
• Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects.
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion.
• Ability to bend and twist body as required.
• Visual and auditory acuity.
• Conformance with Client requirements and government mandates to maintain operations.
• Subject to outside environmental conditions.
• Remote work.
• Ability to complete field observation and site surveys.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Required)
Experience: Structural Engineering 4-6 years (Required)
