New Distribution Center

Provided full-service architectural and engineering services for a new 400,000 sq. ft. distribution center. The building utilizes tilt-up concrete construction with steel joists and joist girders. Forty truck docks are provided for distribution of over 20 products, including such well-known brands as Mott’s Apple Juice and Apple Sauce, Hawaiian Punch, and other Cadburry and Snapple products.

An ESFR sprinkler system is employed throughout the facility.

The electrical system includes upgrade of the medium voltage distribution system for the entire complex, service and distribution to the new distribution center, two-level lighting with automatic sensing, emergency lighting, fire alarm, security, paging, data, and telephone.

The building is heated using gas-fired unit heaters, low intensity infrared heaters over the loading docks, roof-mounted ventilation fans, and exhaust fans. The adjoining office area is conditioned by a DX rooftop unit utilizing gas heat. The rooftop unit is configured for a variable air volume system serving shutoff VAV boxes with electric reheat. In addition, the truckers’ lounge is conditioned by a separate DX constant volume single zone rooftop unit that also utilizes gas heat.
