Cheese Manufacturing Facility
Provided architecture, civil, and structural engineering to Crossgates, Inc. to complete a design-build project for Key Ingredients, a division of New Zealand Milk Products Co-Op.
The 48,000 sq. ft. facility houses a 25,000 sq. ft. cheese manufacturing area, 10,000 sq. ft. cooler storage area, and 4,500 sq. ft. office area. The separate shipping and receiving areas total 5,000 sq. ft. The building is designed to facilitate a linear product flow from the receiving of materials to the production, packaging, and shipping of the final product.
The office area, located in the middle of the facility, houses administrative functions, conference rooms, staff locker rooms, and a lunch area. The facility also contains a laboratory.
The building temperature is maintained at approximately 50°F.
