NUTEC was selected to provide architectural, structural, and MEP engineering services for a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse expansion for Grifols, a Spanish pharmaceutical and chemical company, as part of a design-build project.
As part of the scope we provided the preliminary rack storage layout to determine the optimal system to function with the existing equipment already in use on the campus. The building was designed utilizing long span joists to column bays around the selected rack layout. A 5,500 sq. ft. office mezzanine was designed over the shipping/receiving dock area for conference and lab areas. The building and mezzanine were designed for future expansion, and the facility was designed to LEED certification standards.
